Jae-Yeon Lim (임재연 이민 전문 변호사) is an experienced Canadian immigration lawyer at Harris & Company LLP in Vancouver, and is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario and British Columbia. Jae-Yeon represents employers from diverse industries as well as individuals and families seeking temporary and permanent relocation to Canada. She also advises on various immigration matters, including but not limited to religious workers, employer compliance, and citizenship.
Jae-Yeon has prior experience in corporate, commercial, real estate, wills and estate law. She represented refugee claimants as a volunteer of Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan's Immigration & Refugee Panel. Jae-Yeon received a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Civil Law from the Faculty of Law at McGill University.
Jae-Yeon taught immigration law at the University of British Columbia and contributes regularly to the legal publications of Thomson Reuters. She has been appointed by KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) as Global Regional Consultant for assisting overseas expansion of Korea's small and medium enterprises.
Jae-Yeon is an active member of Canadian Bar Association's National Immigration Section's various working groups and Vice President of Canada Korea Business Association.
Jae-Yeon is fluent in English, French and Korean. In her youth, Jae-Yeon recounted her early experience as an immigrant child in her bilingual book (English and Korean), “Inside Out, Upside Down: a journey across cultural borders”.
